When Hot Butter, a project involving Moog pioneers Gershon Kingsley and Stan Free, released "Popcorn", the first fully synthesized track to hit the international charts, in 1972, German producers quickly recruited Antoine to record a vocal version. Why they chose a Frenchman, of all people, to fulfill this daunting task, remains their secret. While trying his best, Antoine audibly struggles with the tongue-twisting lyrics and, needless to say, loses the battle, making most of the song more or less incomprehensible even to native speakers.
